The world is as you will find out abandoned. It is a practically single player game. You might enjoy it for a while. But at some point wizards started with interfering. It was at first ok under umbrella of help. I didn't mind. Then they started telling me that I should leave mainland and visit islands. Nothing wrong with that but I wanted to fully explore the mainland first and besides I prefer not to be told what to do. But that didn't stop them. On one occasion they even brought the dragon from island and killed one of my characters.I decided that I don't want to play their way anymore and I got answer "You don't get to play the way you want." But that wasn't the end of it. I thought if I stop talking to them they will leave me alone. Instead they were continuously logging in their alts characters and killing my character. First I wasn't sure it was them, but when you play most of the time on your own and then you see a newcomer, very low level character attacking you then you know that it is not a new player. In matter fact, after a while I had to logout every time when they login because I was attacked every single time. And I did not want to fight, nor did I wish to waste time learning how. Because there was no other players to fight just wizards on the alts and they were obviously experienced. It would take me ages to be able to fight them off.
I played many online games and never had a bad experience with game masters, let alone felt the need to write a post about it.
But this was beyond any measure. Just to show how bad it was I will give an example as to what happened at the very end of game. I become a wizard after keep avoiding them and instead of being promoted "officially" and congratulated (for those who don't know that is when you become an immortal) they didn't do that but instead they sent level 2 or 3 alt and killed my wizard character.
What to say, I completed the game and achieved my goals but did they have to do that at the end?

Shame, not what I wanted to see from the first MUD ever made.

See you all out there in some other better game!
Sharkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10603230027919603517noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2316858898012232577.post-29085419027550306532018-06-11T01:40:11.702-07:002018-06-11T01:40:11.702-07:00To be fair, I do know what you mean. When I first ...To be fair, I do know what you mean. When I first read about MUD in Micro Adventurer I was super-excited, and desperately longed for a modem that would let me be a part of it. I was so excited that I wrote a "multi-user" adventure for the Commodore 64. But once I finally got to play multi-player anything, I realised that such games tend to devolve into a race; and for me, gaming is all about slow, careful exploration. That applies just as much in Quake as it does in adventures.Mike Taylorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06039663158335543317noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2316858898012232577.post-7215344511908680212018-06-10T21:36:37.022-07:002018-06-10T21:36:37.022-07:00It's not really a complaint about the game, it...It's not really a complaint about the game, it's more of a complaint about myself. I'm rather ill-suited to multi-player gaming, and that's something that's absolutely going to affect how I approach a game like this.Nathan P. It's a bit like complaining that Space Invaders would be a fine game were it not for those pesky aliens.Mike Taylorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06039663158335543317noreply@blogger.com
